Oneonta Soccer Club (OSC) Parent and New Coach Fact Sheet

The mission of the Oneonta Soccer Club is to foster the growth of youth, through the sport of soccer for individuals under the age of nineteen.

The Soccer Club has teams from U10 Boys and Girls up to U-19 Boys and Girls. These teams travel anywhere from Milford to Elmira to play soccer.

The OSC is associated with the Broome County Soccer Association, and plays teams from that geographical area.

Coaching staff and Board of Director members are made up of volunteers from the Greater Oneonta area.

Try-outs are usually held in mid-October at the National Soccer Hall of Fame with announcements in the local newspaper. All potential players must try-out

Participation in the OSC will include both time and monetary commitments including but not limited to meetings, games, practices, and tournaments.

Registration for the 2009 season is $120/player. Additional costs for uniforms ($40) and tournaments ($25-$50 per person per tournament) exist.

Players are typically responsible for their own travel to games (Parents often discuss carpooling).

The official OSC outdoor season starts on 4/1/2009 and ends 6/30/2009. Indoor tournaments/leagues may be played (at an additional cost) throughout the winter at the discretion of each team’s coach. The OSC encourages but does not mandate play in indoor tournaments.

Coaches will be selecting teams the week following try-outs and will contact players ASAP. A team meeting will be held prior to 11/4/08.
